That means that people from all over America are choosing to relocate to our beautiful area. It also means that many potential voters have not changed their voting location and should! We also have thousands of Hurricane Katrina survivors who have decided to make Georgia their home. They, too, must register if they are going to be allowed to vote in Georgia. Also, Georgia has one of the most regressive voting laws in the country, the requirement for a special government-issued ID in order to vote. One judge has called it tantamount to reverting to the poll tax. Unfortunately, the deadline is fast approaching for our new residents to register and get the necessary ID so they can vote in my July 18th primary election. I'd love to distribute this voter registration reminder and get it up on the airwaves for the next week.
