Henry in 8th District Court of Appeals (Denver) resigns
Briscoe said on Friday that Henry's resignation
"has taken us all by
surprise and you should allow us an appropriate
period of mourning before we are forced to turn the page. It is a long time
until June 30, and as we have seen by recent events, circumstances can change
and that change can be sudden." Henry, 56, could have remained on the
court for life at full pay, currently $184,500. His resignation stunned his
colleagues on the court.
Judge William J. Holloway Jr. of Oklahoma City,
a long-time friend of
Henry's who works in the same courthouse with
him, said Henry's decision
"came as a shock. We didn't know he was
contemplating leaving."
